Will the hard winter impact on this season’s midge population?
Yesterday’s Times Newspaper reported on the possible impact of the hard winter on this season’s midge population; an interview with Dr Alison Blackwell of Advanced Pest Solutions Ltd. Midges overwinter as larvae, just a few centimetres below the soil surface and are susceptible to ground frosts. However, we’ll have to wait until the Spring to find out if there has been any effect. Does anyone know where to source spare parts for Texol midge machines? Texol went into admin some time ago, and our Midg-E machine needs a new PCB for the ignition, but Gibson’s in Dunoon are unable to source one.
Any help would be massively appreciated.

The link for Dundee shows instead the Midge Index for the Cheviot Hills. Can you correct this and also setup the link for the cheviot Hills in the correct place on the map?
